Trsteno and Ston Sightseeing
Drive along the Adriatic coast, through
scenic landscapes where the first stop will be in the small village of
Trsteno with its arboretum and Renaissance botanical garden full of exotic
flora and fauna. After a leisurely stroll through these botanical gardens,
you will depart for Mali Ston, where you can visit its renowned five-kilometer
long fortified walls. The area is also known for its plentiful oyster
and musses farms. You will have the opportunity to taste sea food straight
from these farms, situated directly on the sea
Trsteno-the beauty of its natural ambiance and the exuberant
vegetation make Trsteno one of the most beautiful parts of the Dubrovnik
area. It's famous site the 'Arboretum'; one of the earliest, and most
beautiful gothic-renaissance parks alongside the Croatian coast, adorned
with the Gucetic - Gozze 15. ct. Villa. In the centre of the viilage,
right next to the highway, there are two gigantic sycamores of 5m in diameter,
60m in height, more than 500 years old.

The
historical small town of Ston, with its famous walls and numerous
cultural and historical monuments, is one of the most beautiful
examples of a fortified town and ancient Dubrovnik architecture.
Mali Ston is village and harbour in the cove of
Mali Ston channel, on the slopes of Bartolomija (224 m, with a vista
point), 1 km northeast of Ston.Chief occupations are farming and
fishing; cultivation of molluscs (cove Bistrina, Mali Ston channel).
The village lies on a local road connecting Mali Ston and Ston.Mali
Ston is a quiet place, famous for the cultivation of molluscs (oysters,
mussels and other seashells), which offers excellent opportunities
for family vacations; several good restaurants. The Pozvizd fortress
, located on the hill of the same name, offers a nice view on the
entire surroundings.

Slano is situated in a picturesque bay with sandy beaches,
which is a protected port and shelter during bad weather, only 30 km from
Dubrovnik. This small oasis embraced by lush Mediterranean vegetation
and crystal clear sea features the remnants of Illyrian settlements, Baroque
and Renaissance buildings and other interesting sightseeing possibilities.Slano
is a tourist resort with about 500 inhabitants in a gentle bay covered
with Mediterranean vegetation and sandy beaches.Slano developed from a
small fishermen's settlement and a centre of collecting famous aromatic
herbs of the Dubrovnik littoral.
